Welcome to Nailsea Little Theatre

Nailsea Theatre Club was formed in 1963 by a few dedicated enthusiasts. Since then it has had a continuous programme of successful productions and currently presents three plays a year. Some years ago the club became a registered charity and as a consequence was able to obtain a National Lottery grant to extend the premises - an old Methodist Chapel which is used for rehearsals, scenery building, social events and productions. The new extensions were opened by our past president, Tom Williams, in June 1996. Since the start of the 2011 season the premises at Union Street have become known as Nailsea Little Theatre.

Our doors are open

July 1963, a warm sunny Sunday afternoon, the place - Westway, Nailsea, and two young men are talking over their garden walls and taking a rest from cutting the grass. Only a year before, they had moved to the village - one from London and the other from Newcastle. This conversation wasn't much different from many the two had enjoyed over the past 12 months until one magic word was mentioned - THEATRE. This became common ground for both of them and a basis for much eager discussion in the months ahead.

  • Odd Couple Success!

    22 October 2017

NLT’s first Show of the 2017/2018 Season, a revival of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple (Female Version)” has now closed. This immensely funny play proved a huge success with the packed houses to which it played all week and congratulations to both cast and crew for another superb production. Ably directed by Graham Tyson and stage managed by Barrie Walker every ounce of humour was extracted to the delight of our audiences. Well done all!

Our thoughts now turn to the remainder of the Season which is now coming together and the “What’s On” page will provide more details once they become available. However, as a bonus to the 2017/18 Season NLT will present a Folksy Theatre travelling production of the Snow Queen in December and also Kate McNab and John Telfer will be returning for two nights of magical musical entertainment in February. Again please see the “What’s On” page for details although tickets for the Snow Queen can now be purchased from the Box Office.

In Club news full details of all planned events are available in the NLT events section of the “What’s On” page and a particular date for your diary is the 2nd December 2017 when Peter Newman has agreed to host another quiz as a prelude to the Festive Season. Again more details will appear on the “What’s On” page.

In addition, for those Associates who wish to renew their membership for the remainder of the 2017/2018 Season and for those of our audience who would like to become Associates for the remaining two Shows the 2017/2018 renewal form is available to download from the membership page……….(click Read More and/or the title to see the full post)
